Family and One-to-One Services
How can I help?
Family Mediation
Marriage breakdown is a difficult time for everyone regardless of circumstances. Sadness, logistics and court processes can often leave people feeling overwhelmed. I work with couples at all stages of separation and work with them according to their own needs; to reach a settlement, discuss finances, prepare a parenting plan or simply to resolve an escalating or recurring conflict. I work online and in-person to help them find practical solutions and agreements that will stand the test of time. As well as solutions, we work on their shared communication with the aim of reducing stress.
Difficult Conversation Prep
Life is full of difficult conversations. During these sessions, I work one to one with clients to prepare for conversations that may cause conflict. In these sessions, I help my clients to take their own side and represent themselves well. I give them the opportunity to explore what they want to say and practise it in a safe manner. These sessions are useful for people preparing for mediation, for having difficult conversations at work, for delivering difficult messages and everything in between.
Conflict Coaching
Conflict coaching is a one-to-one process for people who find themselves facing either a one off conflict, or where they find themselves repeatedly having to deal with conflict and find it difficult to engage. I help clients look at the conflicts they are facing from different angles to help them find a way forward.
This work is both reflective and practical and clients will learn new life skills that they can take beyond just the conflict they came to discuss.
Shared Parenting Work
Family breakdown is difficult for everyone and parents are doing their best however sometimes conflict and their communication styles can get in the way of them effectively sharing parenting. Research shows that children fare best when their parents are able to communicate and they don’t feel caught in the middle. These sessions help parents come together and make decisions around their parenting that go beyond just parenting time (access) and children’s costs (maintenance). We also work on their joint communication with the aim of improving life for their children and and also themselves.
